Datacrushers not only gives you all the data you needs on your site, products and shoppers, but allows you to make this data actionable. Both shopper and product analytics have built in features for direct action from within the reports.

The way to take actions from within Product Analytics is by creating product lists. There are two types of product lists that can be created from whithin product analytics. Product groups and segments.

Product groups:
Product groups allows you to create a static list of products from within your product analytics.  For example, you can create a product group for all the abandoned black sneakers that are sold on your website. You can then send out an email blast to all the shoppers who abandoned a black sneaker. You can also use these groups for product upsells or reactivation emails. Items can be added or removed to existing product groups. Items in a product groups can be all different, they do not have to have any similarities.

To create product groups, go to “Product Analytics” Under “Data.”  To create a product group for Black Sneakers, type in “Black Sneakers” in the Product Group box, then click on “Create Group” in order to save it.

Next, type in the product name or SKU in the search box to bring up the product you want to find.

Click on the black sneakers you want to add to your new group. Click “Add to group”.

Finally, click on “View” (as shown in the previous picture) to view the products in the group, and remove any unwanted selections.

A product segment allows you to creates a dymanic lists of products. Rather than choosing to add products to the list, you use the filters to create a segement so that all the products that fit into those filter settings will be part of the product segment. Once a product does not fit the filter settings it will be automatically removed from the list of products included in the segment. If a new product added to the website fits the filter settings it will be automatically added to this product segment.

To create a shopper segment, use the filters to set the parameters for what products should be included in the segment. If you want the segment to include rubies, you can search ruby, so that if the name includes ruby it will be included in the segment. Then, name the segment and click save segment. Note that segment filters also include the date filters. For example if I want to see all products that include the name ruby, were abandoned in the last 7 days, and sold in the last 7 days.

Once you have created the product groups or segments, you can use these segments or groups as filters in any of the triggered emails.
